ABOUT JANETTE.

Janette DeFelice, MD, MA is a writer currently focusing on how the changing environment affects our health.

Her essay collection Resistance Essays from the Heartland, her novel Delia Rising: A Ballet in Three Acts, and her children’s sci-fi adventure The Get-Along Game are available now. She has also published at Be The Change Mom, ChicagoNow, and Medium.com. She holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Chicago Medical School and a Master’s degree in Humanities from the University of Chicago, where her major essay was Hegel and Ibsen: The Evolution of Consciousness in Ibsen’s Prose Play Cycle. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Indiana University.

A former adjunct Humanities and Political Science professor and former lecturer in Medical Clinical Skills, as well as a mom of 10-year-old twins, she currently finds herself at a career/life crossroads at which she is trying to figure out how to use all aspects of herself (her art, her medical and scientific knowledge, her philosophical explorations, her interest in popular culture as a teaching tool, and her unique perspective) for the good of humanity.

I NEED YOUR HELP.

I am dancing in the Dancing With The Starz event on May 9 and would like your help. While I am dancing the night away, you can help me win the competition by voting for me with your donation. Every dollar you donate in my name will go directly to fund senior services AND will help me win the dance competition.

Here’s How You Can Help Me:

  • STEP ONE – Choose the amount you wish to donate (note: all donations are tax deductible)
  • STEP TWO – Feel good knowing that you’ve helped seniors with your donation

Since each dollar is a vote, the more votes I receive, the better the chance I can win the dance competition.

THANK YOU.

Thank you for your support as I dance in the fundraising event. I also encourage you to learn more about DSCC and all the various ways they help seniors in need live independently right here in our communities and consider volunteering.
