MINOR
HOME MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Plumbing
- Repair and/or replace faucets.
- Change cartridges in faucets
- Rebuild and/or replace toilets
- Replace toilet wax ring.
- Replace “P” traps.
Electrical
- Replace existing outlets
and light switches.
- Install light fixtures and ceiling
fans to existing electrical connections, including
outdoor lighting.
- Repair or replace fluorescent fixtures.
- Replace burned out light bulbs.
- Install carbon monoxide and smoke
detectors.
- Replace smoke detector batteries.
Carpentry and General Maintenance
- Install locks, dead bolts, peepholes,
and window locks.
- Replace door handles with lever-type
handles.
- Install shelves.
- Wash windows.
- Caulk windows.
- Repair and /or replace weather
stripping on doors and windows.
- Replace filters on heating systems.
- Trim bushes.
- Clean gutters (on first floor only).
- Wash walls and floors (on a limited
basis).
- Install non-strips on stairs.
- Hang pictures and draperies.
- Minor painting.
Safety Installations
- Install grab-bar, bath benches,
transfer benches, hand-held showers, raised toilet
seats, and other safety equipment.
- Repair and/or install hand and
stair railings.
Minor Home Repair Rates
Rates for DSCC’s services are as follows:
Subsidized Communities
- $40 per service hour (billed in
15 minute increments)
- 30 minutes minimum per service
call
Unsubsidized Communities
- $60 per service hour (billed in
15 minute increments)
- 60 minutes minimum per service
call.
